Antanas Strazdas is a famous Lithuanian poet and priest. The precise date of birth or any other details of his life are still unknown.Strazdas was born in a villain family, however received some education during his childhood. This is likely to have determined his further path in life – the cleric school of Varniai and later a clerical seminary. Due to his complicated character he was often moved between different parishes. He died in 1833, in Kamajai after he had voluntarily left the monastery of Pažaislis. During his life only one little poetry book was published – “Giesmės svetiškos ir šventos” (1814).
